By accessing or using UOrgs — including by creating an account, submitting a rating, or simply browsing — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
UOrgs is an independent platform for discovering, rating, reviewing, and discussing campus organizations. Listings may be created from publicly available campus information, student submissions, officer submissions, or administrative review. UOrgs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any university or organization listed on the site. University and organization names are used only to identify the entities being discussed.
You must be at least 13 years old to use this platform. By using UOrgs, you represent that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will delete their account immediately.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not use another user's account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content to UOrgs, including ratings, reviews, discussion posts, comments, organization information, logos, links, reports, and event information, you grant UOrgs a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, modify for formatting or moderation, and otherwise use that content in connection with operating, improving, promoting, and protecting the service.
You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide and that it does not violate anyone else's rights, including privacy, publicity, trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights.
User content reflects the views of the person who submitted it. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted ratings, reviews, discussion posts, comments, or organization information.
You may not use UOrgs to:
A verified officer may claim their organization and manage its profile details — such as its name, description, links, logo, categories, and official events. Claiming is subject to our verification process and to review; we may approve, deny, or revoke a claim, or correct profile information, at our discretion.
Claiming an organization does not give it control over the ratings, reviews, discussion posts, or comments on its page. That content is contributed by community members, often anonymously, reflects their views only, and does not represent the official position of any university or organization. Officers cannot edit, hide, or remove community content. We generally do not remove content solely because an organization objects, but we may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms, creates legal or safety risk, or is otherwise harmful to the service or its users.
Ratings and other metrics are computed by us from community activity and are not editable by any organization.
If you believe content on UOrgs infringes your copyright, send a notice through the Contact or Feedback page with: (1) your physical or electronic signature, (2) identification of the copyrighted work, (3) the URL or other identification of the allegedly infringing material, (4) your contact information, (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, and (6) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
Users whose content is removed may submit a counter-notice if they believe the removal was mistaken or misidentified. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR AVAILABLE AT ANY GIVEN TIME. WE MAY MODIFY OR DISCONTINUE THE PLATFORM AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL UORGS, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO UORGS IN THE SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UOrgs and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including without limitation any intellectual property rights or rights of privacy; or (d) any claim that your content caused damage to a third party.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of UOrgs will be governed by the laws of the state of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us before initiating formal legal proceedings. If a dispute is not resolved informally within 30 days, either party may pursue available remedies in the courts described above.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY PROCEEDINGS MUST BE CONDUCTED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS; CLASS ACTIONS AND REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to review, refuse, remove, restrict, or preserve content that violates these terms or that we determine in our discretion to be harmful, unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, unsafe, or disruptive. We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, evade moderation, or create legal or safety risk. Critical and negative opinions about organizations are permitted and generally will not be removed solely because an organization objects.
We may display advertising on UOrgs in the future to support the cost of running the platform. Using the platform constitutes acceptance of seeing ads if and when they are introduced. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising interacts with your data.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will update the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use UOrgs after a change is posted means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must stop using the platform.
